What football coaching qualifications are available and what do I need?

The FA offer a variety of coaching qualifications for coaches to learn, develop and identify talent.

All courses are ran and delivered centrally by ‘England Football’ this means all courses are booked and all enquiries linked to course bookings should be directed to ‘England Football’

For grassroots coaches the courses available are the following;

The EE Playmaker

Introduction to Coaching Football Course (Formerly known as FA Level 1)

UEFA C Licence (Formerly known as FA Level 2)

UEFA B Licence

More information can be found by clicking on each course.

What level qualification do I require?

For affiliated football there is no requirement to hold a football coaching qualification. However, we recommend that any coach involved in coaching youth football gain as a minimum the ‘EE Playmaker’.

For coaches coaching in England Football Accredited Clubs there is a requirement for each team to have at least one coach that holds the 'Introduction to Coaching Football' qualification.

If you are unsure which qualification you require speak to your club welfare officer or alternatively contact Support@SheffieldFA.com

If you are having booking issues or issues accessing England Football Learning courses visit the Help Centre or contact Education@TheFA.com
