Reporting a Matchday Concern

The FA now manages discipline services on behalf of Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA.


What is a matchday concern?

A matchday concern may include:

  • Discrimination – Any racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, faith-based, or disability-related abuse or behaviour.
  • Abusive or Offensive Language – Swearing, insulting, threatening, or abusive comments directed at players, officials, coaches, or spectators.
  • Violent Conduct – Fighting, punching, kicking, spitting, or any act of aggression on or around the pitch.
  • Serious Misconduct Towards Match Officials – Threatening, intimidating, or physically confronting a referee or assistant referee.
  • Poor Behaviour from Spectators or Team Officials – Spectator abuse, pitch invasions, disorderly conduct, or inappropriate behaviour from coaches and club officials.

If you have witnessed or experienced discrimination or abusive behaviour, we encourage you to report it as soon as possible to help ensure football remains a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone.
