Across the County we have clubs of all different shapes and sizes, and across these different clubs we have a variety of approaches to managing club administration via the FA platforms, particularly for those clubs that offer different pathways within them e.g men’s, women’s, girls, boys, disability.
Many clubs across the County affiliate separate individual clubs when affiliating. Some to split genders, some to split adult and youth, and some to split Saturday/Sunday teams.
There are a number of reasons for this historically, one being the fear that fines from a junior or senior section will impact the other section of the club. The second being that Adult sections of clubs do not want safeguarding requirements to prevent their club from affiliating as well as some clubs where this is simply the tradition.
Important things to note
Individual Teams can be suspended for discipline matters, not full clubs
Teams can now affiliate team by team rather than requiring the whole club to have mandatory requirements in place (As long as club officials are compliant).
Now may be the time to look at consolidating your clubs into 1!
Why Consolidate?
This will bring all your teams and players under one banner making administration easier
This will allow you to tidy up your team suffixes and names.
We are not mandating that you need to do this, it is just a discussion and an option for you as a club.
If you have separate committees for the different elements you may choose not to merge them together on the system.
Please see below some examples of how clubs can consolidate their multiple clubs into 1 club for administration purposes. You can then then utilise clear Team Suffixes to identify each team.
How to consolidate?
Unfortunately, there is not a system in place to merge the clubs together on the system. If you would like to merge your clubs together we recommend using the club that has the most players registered to it, add all teams to that club and then manually bring across your players from the redundant clubs.
