Adult Teams: Which County Cup Should We Enter?

Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA offers a range of County Cup competitions for affiliated teams to enter.


Entering a County Cup


When affiliating your club, it's important to ensure that each team is entered into the correct County Cup competition. Before submitting your entry, please check that:

  • Your team is eligible to enter the competition.
  • The day of play is correct.
  • Your team is entering the appropriate competition based on its playing level.


Is it mandatory to enter a County Cup?


For most teams, entry into a County Cup competition is mandatory.


The following leagues are exempt and are not required to enter a Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA County Cup competition:


  • Wragg Football League
  • Sheffield & District Fair Play League


If an eligible team does not wish to participate in a County Cup competition, a Cup Exemption Fee must be paid.

Regional feeder league/NLS clubs reserve teams.


Saturday Trophy Competition- Open to teams competing in Division Two and below of County Saturday Leagues.

Optional Entry for;

Optional for, The Wragg Football League- Premier, 1st Division, 2nd Division & Over 45s Division 1 & 2.  


Sunday Senior Cup Competition- Open to teams competing in the top division of Sunday Leagues. If a league has four or more divisions, teams from the top two divisions are eligible to enter.
